DE PLOEG

For almost a hundred years, De Ploeg has been designing, developing and producing curtain and upholstery fabrics — with a distinct approach to design and to the world around us. During the development phase, De Ploeg carefully considers the timelessness of the design, the use of natural materials and the environmental aspects of the fabrics.

In 2013 De Ploeg and koda amsterdam presented a collection of home and fashion accessories at Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, made of the cut waste of upholstery fabrics. This event marks the start of an intense collaboration resulting in many products that reflect the shared values of timeless design and true craftsmanship.

LUXAFLEX

Luxaflex® is the premium brand of Hunter Douglas, the worldwide market leader in window covering products, which was established 70 years ago with the invention of the first Metal Venetian Blind. Each year Luxaflex® introduces innovative, original products, colours and design options and creates inspiring collections that are market-orientated, timeless and superbly fashion-forward.

Luxaflex® and koda amsterdam recycle scrap fabrics into stylish bags, creating work opportunities and supporting the environment by reusing materials.

AUPING

For more than 130 years, Auping has been designing and making beds in Deventer. Every single bed and mattress is made to order with care and attention to detail, the environment and the future. Auping dreams of a sustainable world in which everything is reused. Auping developed the world’s first fully circular mattress.

The first result of the collaboration between koda amsterdam and Auping is the ZACHT quilted bag. The different layers of leftover fabrics and padding are stitched at the Royal Auping production facility in Deventer. The bag is then put together by the skilled hands of the Pantar team in Amsterdam.

KARSTEN TENTEN

In 1981 a couple of Dutch pioneers invented the Karsten Tent, a revolutionary tent with a unique inflation system. A new way of carefree camping was born. Only the best materials are good enough for these exceptional tents. The 100% Ten Cate cotton canvas means that each handmade tent is extremely storm-resistant and rainproof.

Karsten collects the cut waste of this canvas for koda amsterdam to make sure it’s given a new purpose in today’s circular world.

LABEL VANDENBERG

LABEL VANDENBERG

The furniture makers at LABEL Vandenberg have been crafting handmade originals for three generations. From the initial sketch to production, everything takes place under one roof in Raamsdonksveer. Local production, timeless designs, and the high quality of materials used make LABEL Vandenberg furniture highly durable.

The residual leather from LABEL Vandenberg is cut into 12 x 12 cm squares. These squares serve as the building blocks for an ingenious bag design, available in three models.
